How Crucible handles your data. Short version: your vault stays on your machine.
Overview
Crucible is built by KandiVault LLC. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data. Crucible is now a free tool with no accounts and no payments, which means there is very little to explain.

Accounts and Payments Are Retired
Crucible previously had user accounts and paid tiers. Both have been shut down. The authentication database and payment processing have been decommissioned, and the account and purchase records they held have been removed. There is no longer any sign-up, sign-in, or billing on this site or in the desktop application.
Data We Collect
Data We Do Not Collect
Crucible processes research data locally on your machine. We do not access, transmit, or store the contents of your vault, your research topics, your search queries, or any documents collected by the desktop application. Your vault remains entirely private, and the application does not phone home for a licence check.
Third-Party Services
Cookies
We no longer set authentication cookies, because there is no authentication. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Vercel Analytics collects anonymous, aggregated data with no personal identifiers.
Your Rights
Data Retention
There is no account data left to retain. Vault data stored locally is never transmitted to us and is yours to manage. Email you send us is kept only for as long as it takes to answer you.
