How Crucible handles your data. Short version: your vault stays on your machine.

Overview

Crucible is built by KandiVault LLC. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.

Data We Collect

Account information: email address and hashed password when you create an account.
Subscription data: plan tier and subscription status, managed through Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers.
Usage metadata: basic analytics such as page views and feature usage to improve the product.

Data We Do Not Collect

Crucible processes research data locally on your machine. We do not access, transmit, or store the contents of your vault, your research topics, your search queries, or any documents collected by the desktop application. Your vault remains entirely private.

Third-Party Services

Supabase: authentication and user profile storage.
Stripe: payment processing for subscriptions.
Vercel: website hosting and deployment.
Vercel Analytics: anonymous page view analytics.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication sessions only. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Vercel Analytics collects anonymous, aggregated data with no personal identifiers.

Your Rights

Request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.
Export your vault data at any time using the desktop application.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
You may opt out of analytics by using a browser extension that blocks Vercel Analytics.

Data Retention

Account data is retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data (profile, subscription records) is permanently removed within 30 days. Vault data stored locally is never transmitted to us and is yours to manage.
